Steamburg Cemetery

Steamburg Cemetery. this cemetery was indexed by H. W. Getchell on 3
October 1966. The Crawford County Historical Society gave us permission
to post the index on our web site. However, the original index has been
updated and/or corrected.
The cemetery is overgrown and apparently abandoned. It is located on
Route 20039 south of the Village of Steamburg. It is off the west side
of the road several hundred feet in a field. There is no driveway.
There is a sign over the entrance.
The first known burial was in 1833.
We, the undersigned citizens of Steamburg and its vicinity being
desirous to obtain a piece of land for the purpose of a grave yard
independent of other incumberance, to do which we have got to pay in
part for the same and as Geo. Potter agrees to set apart and deed one
half an acre of land for that special purpose, therefore we agree to pay
to him the sums set to our names respectfully.

NOTE: There are no period on the two individuals showing $100 rather
than $1.00. George Potter was married to Hiram Wilder's sister,
